Bharti Airtel is India's second largest operator with close to forty crore subscribers, and unlike its rivals it is a genuinely international business, with operations across Africa and South Asia.

At home it sells mobile with nationwide 5G, Xstream Fiber broadband, DTH television and a large enterprise arm. Customers handle recharges, bills, and their broadband and DTH accounts through the Airtel Thanks app, which also bundles content subscriptions.

Its network sees peak load on weekday evenings, and its app gets busy at month start when postpaid bills and prepaid validity both come due.

If Airtel isn't working

Restart the connection Toggle airplane mode on mobile, or power cycle the router on broadband, for 30 seconds to re-establish the Airtel session.
Is it data, or calls too? Check whether only data, only calls and SMS, or everything is affected, and whether it is just your locality.
Test a different network If a second SIM or Wi-Fi works at the same spot, the problem is Airtel side. Add your report so others can see the spread.
For broadband, check the box lights A red or off LED on the ONT usually means a line or fiber issue, which only Airtel can fix, so raise a complaint.
Check the live status above If many people in your area are reporting Airtel right now, it is a wider problem and not just you.

Other ways to access Airtel

Turn on Wi-Fi calling If you have working Wi-Fi or Airtel broadband, enabling Wi-Fi calling lets you make and take calls even when the mobile signal is weak. Do note it needs a stable Wi-Fi connection to work.
Hotspot from another SIM If you have a second SIM on another network, or someone nearby does, share its data over a hotspot until Airtel is back.
Switch between mobile data and broadband Airtel mobile and Airtel broadband are separate networks, so if one is down the other often still works. Move your devices to whichever one is up.
Raise a complaint on Airtel Thanks or the helpline The Airtel Thanks app works over any internet, so you can check status and report a network or broadband fault from another connection. The verified Airtel helpline can also register a complaint.
