Answer: No TN e-Sevai issues reported in the last 24 hours, and it responded normally at our last check on 24 Oct 2026, 4:08 AM IST.

Our automated check runs from one or more locations and may miss in-app problems; reports come from users across India. We only call something "down" when users confirm it too. Here's how we check.

About TN e-Sevai

Community, income, nativity and many other certificates in Tamil Nadu are applied for through TN e-Sevai, the citizen portal of the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (TNeGA). You apply through Citizen Login with a Citizen Access Number (CAN), or at an e-Sevai centre near your home.

Application status and certificate checks run on the linked TN e-District site. The e-Adangal crop record extract is also linked from the e-Sevai home page.

If TN e-Sevai isn't working

  • See if other e-Sevai users report it If e-Sevai reports jump at once, the portal is down. Try again after a while.

  • Keep your CAN handy Every application starts from the Citizen Access Number. Search for it by mobile number or date of birth if you have lost it.

  • Switch the payment bank If one bank's payment fails, pay through another bank or mode. When TNeGA knows of a bank problem, a notice on the home page names that bank.

  • Open the Returned application tab An application sent back by the department sits there after you log in and click the service name. Correct what the department asked for and resubmit.

  • Check status on TN e-District If the e-Sevai login fails, TN e-District shows the status with just the application number.

Other ways to access TN e-Sevai

  • Visit an e-Sevai centre Tell the operator the service you need. The centre registers the application, takes the fee and gives you a receipt, and you collect the approved certificate there.

  • Track without the portal TN e-District's Application Status page needs only the application number, no login.

  • Get an e-Adangal extract The crop record extract for your land opens straight from the e-Adangal link on the e-Sevai home page.

  • Call the helpdesk The toll-free number and helpdesk email are on our TN e-Sevai helpline page.

Questions

Our TN e-Sevai card checks tnesevai.tn.gov.in and counts reports from citizens and e-Sevai centre operators. Many reports arriving together mean the portal is down for everyone. If yours is the only report, switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi and retry.

An application passes through three systems: the e-Sevai portal itself, TN e-District for status and certificate checks, and the bank gateway that takes the fee. Any one of them can hold it up.

When one bank's payments fail, TNeGA puts a notice on the e-Sevai home page and says which payment modes still work.

CAN is the Citizen Access Number, needed for every e-Sevai service. One CAN works for all services and stays valid for life.

Lost it? Search for it with your mobile number, date of birth, name or email id.

Log in and open the Check Status tab with your application number. Without logging in, use Application Status on TN e-District and enter the same number.

Once the certificate is approved, collect it from your nearest e-Sevai centre. To check that a certificate is genuine, use Verify Certificate on TN e-District, the site e-Sevai links for application tracking.

A photo, address proof, the community certificate of your father, mother or a sibling, and a self-declaration. The e-Sevai FAQ page lists the documents for income, nativity, widow and other certificates too.

  1. Log in through Citizen Login.
  2. Go to Services, Department Wise, Revenue Department, then REV-101 Community Certificate, and click Proceed.
  3. Find your CAN, select it and confirm the OTP sent to your registered phone.
  4. Click Edit CAN Detail and make the change.

Only the mobile number registered on your CAN gets the OTP. Check that this phone has signal, wait two or three minutes, then tap Generate OTP once more. When many people report OTP trouble together, the portal itself has the problem, so wait and try later.

For a complaint about an e-Sevai centre, send a WhatsApp message to the number set for your district. The four district numbers are on the IVRS and WhatsApp Poster page of the e-Sevai site.

The CM Helpline (1100, or its portal) and the CM Cell take grievances too. For help with an application itself, call the toll-free helpdesk first.
