About UMANG

UMANG puts a large number of government services into one app instead of dozens of separate portals. It is built by the Ministry of Electronics and IT with NeGD, and it works on mobile, web and even by a call centre for people who cannot use the app.

Through it a citizen can reach EPFO passbook and claims, DigiLocker documents, gas cylinder booking, pension services, crop insurance, utility bills and hundreds of central and state services, in several Indian languages.

Since it is a front door to other systems, its own load rises whenever a popular service behind it, EPFO especially, is in demand.

If UMANG isn't working

One service not loading? It is often that department's server, not UMANG. Try another service, and the failing one again later.
Login or OTP failing? Check the number and wait for the OTP, and set an MPIN so you do not depend on the OTP each time.
App slow on a results or PF day? That is load from the busy service inside UMANG. Try an off-peak time.
Payment or booking failed? A failed payment is reversed in a few working days. Keep the reference and check the service's status first.
App stuck? Update UMANG, clear its cache, and re-login.

Go to the service's own portal or app EPFO, DigiLocker or Aadhaar each have their own site or app if UMANG is down.
