About BGMI

Krafton publishes BGMI, or Battlegrounds Mobile India, the India-only build of PUBG Mobile that was made after the original was blocked here. Its own run has been stop-start: pulled from the app stores in 2022, back in 2023, and on a steady patch cycle since.

It is a battle royale. A hundred players drop on a map and the last one standing wins, and tournaments, org teams and streamers have grown up around it. Krafton also publishes a monthly anti-cheat report naming how many accounts were banned.

Nothing in it works offline. Login, matchmaking, the store and even the lobby need Krafton's servers, so an update window or a server fault stops everyone at once.

If BGMI isn't working

Server Busy or Authentication Error? Krafton reads this as a weak or unstable connection. Swap Wi-Fi for mobile data, step away from a crowded network, close background apps and restart the phone.
Watch the ping, not just the bars Around 360ms the game stops behaving like a laggy match and starts returning Server Not Responding. A 5GHz band or mobile data usually pulls it back.
Run Repair from the login screen The Repair button on the right of the login page rebuilds patch files, which is the fix after an update day and after a crash.
Playing as a guest? Do not log out Krafton warns that logging out of a guest account can wipe the character progress. Link the account first, then troubleshoot.
Free up storage if it crashes Krafton's own crash list starts with storage: clear space, remove apps you do not use, then reopen the game. Check your device against the minimum requirements if it keeps happening.

Report a cheater without waiting for support The in-game Report button on the result page and on a player's profile goes straight to the anti-cheat system. Keep the UID and a short clip.
Grievance route for anything unresolved A complaint that support has not settled goes to the India grievance officer, and the BGMI helpline contacts carry that address along with what the mail has to include.

Look at what other players are reporting on this page. A real server outage shows up from players all over the country within minutes. A quiet page usually means your network, your ping or an update waiting to install.

Update days are the common answer. Krafton takes the servers down around a patch, announces the window beforehand and posts the server open time on the official BGMI channels, and nobody can log in until it passes. Outside a window, a login that fails on its own usually points at the network, a version that still needs updating, or a ban on the account.

It means the connection to the server did not hold. Krafton's own help article puts that down to a weak or unstable signal more often than to the servers. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, move away from a crowded network, close everything running in the background and restart the phone. If reports are stacking up here at the same time, it is the servers and waiting is the only fix.

Switch to the other connection first, mobile data if you are on Wi-Fi and the other way round. Krafton asks players to avoid places with heavy network traffic, which is what a shared office or hostel Wi-Fi looks like to the game. Restart the router and the phone. On Android, setting Private DNS to dns.google clears it on some broadband lines. If one network fails while others work, the connection is the problem and not BGMI.

A patch day leaves files to download, so the first matches after one run heavy. Tap Repair on the right of the login screen, switch network or get on a 5GHz band, and shut the apps sitting in the background. Krafton puts the line at around 360ms: past that the game stops calling it lag and starts showing Server Not Responding.

In the game, not on the website. After a match where a cheater killed you, the Report button sits at the lower left of the result page. For anyone else, open their profile from the Friend list or an Add Friend search and use Report on the Statistics or Tier Overview page. Krafton asks for the UID and a short, clear video of the behaviour, and says the in-game route is the one its security system acts on fastest.
