If Valorant isn't working

Compare with other players A spike in Valorant reports means the problem is on Riot's side, not yours. Give it some time before you queue again.
Connection error on launch Close VALORANT and the Riot Client completely, then open them again. Riot gives this as the first step for most connection errors.
VAN error from Vanguard Find the exact code in Riot's Vanguard Error Codes article and follow its steps. Some need only a restart; others need a Windows security setting changed.
High ping or lag Plug in a cable instead of Wi-Fi and turn off any VPN or proxy. Riot's network guide then suggests trying a public DNS server.
Can't log in Check your username and password once again, then the Service Status page. If the servers are fine and you still cannot get in, use Riot's Account Recovery Tool.

Watch the Valorant reports here: if many players report problems within a few minutes, the fault is on Riot's side. For Riot's own word, open its Service Status page, pick VALORANT and your region, and read Current Messages.

It may be scheduled maintenance or a live incident, which Riot lists region by region on its Service Status page. If nothing is listed there and other players are not reporting, start with your own PC and network: restart VALORANT and the Riot Client, then test the connection.
