About BharatPe

BharatPe is built for merchants rather than shoppers. Shopkeepers use its QR code to accept UPI payments into their bank account, and many also take its soundbox, card machine or a working capital loan against those collections.

It is a common sight at kirana stores, chemists and small eateries across Indian cities and towns. Because its volume comes from shop counters, its systems are busiest through the day and evening trading hours and on big shopping and festival days, when merchant collections go up sharply.

If BharatPe isn't working

Verify a payment before giving goods For a payment not showing, check your BharatPe app and ask for the customer's reference. Do not rely on a screenshot alone, since fake payment screenshots are a common scam.
Check your soundbox and QR device Restart the soundbox or QR device and check its network. Many alerts stop simply because the device lost connection.
Keep the settlement reference If a settlement is delayed, keep its reference and check your linked bank. It usually credits once processing catches up, especially after a holiday.
Update and restart the app Update the BharatPe app and restart it, and switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
Check the live status above If many merchants across India are reporting BharatPe right now, it is a wider problem and not just your shop.

Other ways to access BharatPe

Accept another UPI app for now Keep a second UPI QR or app at the counter so you can still take payments while BharatPe is down.
Ask customers to pay to another linked account For an urgent sale, a customer can pay to another UPI ID or account you hold until BharatPe is back.
Raise a request in the app For a settlement or payment issue, the in-app help is the fastest route to a merchant support agent.
