About GeM
GeM, the Government e Marketplace, is India's national public procurement portal. Central and state ministries, departments and PSUs buy goods and services on it from registered sellers, and the General Financial Rules make buying through it mandatory for government users.
It is run by GeM SPV, a Section 8 company whose board is chaired by the Commerce Secretary. Bids, reverse auctions, orders, contracts and payments all run on the one portal, so a buyer stuck on an order and a seller stuck on a bid can be facing very different problems.

Questions
Check the reports on this page. When buyers and sellers report problems at the same time, the portal has a technical issue at GeM's end. A seller stuck on a bid and a buyer stuck on an order both show up here when it breaks.
- Pop-ups blocked in the browser, which leaves a blank screen or no OTP when you publish a bid.
- The OTP goes to your Aadhaar-linked mobile; a resend opens after 10 minutes.
- For a DSC, install the emBridge app and keep it running.
Raise a ticket at once so the attempt is on record, and call 14550 or 1800 419 3436 while you keep trying. When a disruption hits closing bids, GeM has extended them and posted the notice on its home page, as it did for bids due on 9 October 2026.
Yes. Railway buyers have 0120-6438300 and Defence or MHA buyers 0120-6438200, both open 9 AM to 10 PM, Monday to Saturday.
Browser mein gem.gov.in ke liye pop-up allow karein aur DSC ke liye emBridge app chalu rakhein. OTP Aadhaar se jude mobile par aata hai, resend 10 minute baad milta hai. Phir bhi na chale to GeM par ticket darj karein.
Raise a ticket with the transaction reference so the failure is recorded, and pick Payment as the issue type. If the ticket does not settle it, the Escalation Support Form on GeM's contact page takes it to level 2 support, using the same ticket number.
Click Login on gem.gov.in, then Forgot your Password. Enter your User ID exactly, since it is case sensitive, fill the captcha and submit, then follow the steps that come up. A new password needs at least 8 characters with upper case, lower case, a number and a special character. Buyers with an NIC or government email log in with that mailbox's password after the User ID.
