About IDBI Bank

IDBI Bank began as a development finance institution and turned into a full service commercial bank later on.

LIC holds close to half of it and the Government of India most of the rest, the RBI classifies it as a private sector bank, and a strategic sale of that combined stake has been in the works for a few years now.

For a customer it works like any other bank, net banking, the Go Mobile+ app, UPI, cards, deposits and loans, out of a branch network spread across India. Its pension and retail base is sizeable, which makes credit days at the start of a month and month end its heaviest hours.
