About Punjab National Bank

Punjab National Bank is the second largest public sector bank in India, owned by the Government of India and headquartered in New Delhi. Founded in 1894, it grew considerably bigger in 2020 when Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India were merged into it.

Day to day banking runs on PNB One, net banking, UPI and cards, while the branch network carries cash, pension and government business in smaller towns and villages. With so many pension and scheme accounts on its books, load peaks in the opening days of a month and whenever salary and pension credits go out together.
