Q: My DSC is not working on the MCA V3 portal, what do I do?

Only a Business User can associate a DSC, so upgrade a Registered User ID first. Install emSigner and emBridge and run both as administrator, change the PIN of a new token, then go to MCA Services, FO Services, Associate DSC. If you associated your DSC on V2, associate it again on V3. An expired DSC will not sign at all; renew it with the certifying authority that issued it.

About MCA

Companies and LLPs in India file their statutory forms on the MCA21 portal, run by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA): incorporation through SPICe+, director KYC, charges, annual returns and financial statements. Filing now runs on version V3 of the MCA portal.

Most forms are signed with a digital signature certificate by a director or a professional, and every filing gets an SRN for tracking. Planned outages are announced in advance by the Ministry.

If MCA isn't working

Check for announced downtime MCA posts planned maintenance windows on its home page and on X @MCA21India. During one, nothing will load.
Start emSigner and emBridge Install both and run them as administrator before you sign a form or associate a DSC.
Clear the cache or try another browser If a V3 page is stuck, clear the browser cache or open the MCA portal in some other browser.
Cancel only an unpaid SRN Cancel SRN appears only for Not Paid or Pending for Payment. A paid SRN stays, and a double payment goes through the Refund form.

Other ways to access MCA

Pay the fee offline by challan Generate an NEFT or RTGS challan on the MCA portal and pay it at an authorised branch of PNB, SBI, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank or Indian Bank.
Switch the payment mode If a card payment fails, pay by net banking through PNB, SBI, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Indian Bank or Union Bank. Cards must be Visa or Mastercard issued in India.
Raise a Service Related Complaint Under MCA Services, Complaints, describe the problem and attach screenshots and your email and mobile so the helpdesk can fix the filing.

Check the reports here and MCA's own notices. A rush of reports from professionals across India means the MCA21 portal itself is failing. MCA also announces planned downtime, often overnight, on its home page and its X account @MCA21India.

Usually it is an announced maintenance window, a technical issue on the MCA21 portal that many users report at once, or a problem on your own machine. On your side, check that your DSC is associated with your V3 Business User ID and that emSigner and emBridge are running.

Yes. On 5 June 2026, MCA said a fire incident at its Data Centre site forced an unscheduled switch to its disaster recovery site, and some services took time to restore. It then took the portal offline from 10 PM on 16 June to 8 AM on 17 June 2026 to add capacity.

Cancel the SRN if the payment failed for a technical reason and cannot be retried. The option sits under My Application, Application History, Pending for action, and shows only for Not Paid or Pending for Payment. Paid twice? File the free Refund form. An offline NEFT or RTGS challan takes 3-4 working days to realise, then 2-3 more days to show.

Check the mobile and email on your user profile, and wait a minute before asking again. Upgrade or merge a V2 user ID into V3 as a Business User before you log in. MCA asks foreign directors with OTP issues to raise a helpdesk ticket and follow the emailed instructions.

Payment fail hua aur dobara ka option nahi hai to Application History mein Pending for action se SRN cancel karein. Do baar fee kat gayi to Refund form bharein, uski koi fee nahi hai. DSC kaam na kare to emSigner aur emBridge chalu karke dekhein.
