Q: Why is the SonyLIV website not working on Chrome or my laptop?

Q: Why can I not watch live sports on SonyLIV?

Live sports need the LIV Premium or Mobile Only pack, and Mobile Only plays only on phones through the app. Upgrade from your account section, then play the match again. Live TV channels are no longer on Sony LIV, so open the match from the Sports section rather than looking for a channel.

Turn off VPN or proxy Sony LIV does not support browsing, playback or purchase over a VPN, proxy or routing service.
Update or reinstall the app An older app version can fail to play, especially on smart TVs. Update it from your device's store.
Log out and back in after paying A paid plan with an SMS confirmation activates after you sign out and sign in again.
Check the TV is supported Older Samsung, VIDAA and Skyworth TVs no longer get full app updates, so use the phone app or cast instead.
Lower the video quality When a live match keeps buffering, pick a lower quality in the player settings till the stream steadies.

Check the reports on this page. A surge from viewers across India means Sony LIV has a technical issue at its end. A few scattered reports usually point to the device, the app version or a VPN on your connection.

Three things stop Sony LIV most often. A VPN or proxy is not supported, the app may be too old for the device, or a new subscription has not activated yet. An account also works only in the country it was registered in, so it will not play abroad.

Check that the TV is supported: Android TV 7.0 or above, LG webOS 4 or above, Samsung from 2018, Sony Bravia from 2017, Apple TV on tvOS 16. Samsung TVs from 2017 or earlier get limited updates, and VIDAA and Skyworth TVs get no new app versions. To sign in, choose More, then Activate TV in the phone app and enter the 4-digit code shown on the TV.

Check your internet first, then turn off any VPN or proxy, because playback is not supported through them. Update the app. If an error keeps showing, message Sony LIV Assist on WhatsApp at 85919 75331 with the error.

If the payment went through and you got the SMS confirmation, log out and log in again to activate the plan. Bought on an iPhone but missing on Apple TV? Tap Restore under My Account with the same Apple ID. A plan through Jio, Airtel, Vi, Tata Play Binge, YuppTV, Sling or OTTplay is activated by that partner, so contact them.
