JioSaavn came out of the 2018 merger of Saavn and JioMusic, and it competes on something the global services find hard to match, the depth of its Indian catalogue across Bollywood, regional film music and devotional.

It offers tens of millions of tracks in many languages, with podcasts alongside, and bundled access through Jio plans put it on a very large number of phones. Festival seasons and new film soundtrack releases lift its listening sharply.
