About JioHotstar

JioHotstar is the result of India's biggest media merger. In February 2025, Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema were combined into a single service under JioStar, the joint venture between Reliance's Viacom18 and Disney's Star India.

The result is a catalogue of some three lakh hours in 19 languages, and more importantly the country's biggest sports rights under one roof, IPL and ICC cricket, the Premier League, Wimbledon and domestic leagues, alongside Hollywood content from Disney, HBO, NBCUniversal and Paramount.

It crossed a hundred million subscribers within months. Live cricket is what defines its load, an IPL final or an India match pulls tens of millions of concurrent viewers onto it at the same instant.
