About Utkarsh Small Finance Bank
Varanasi is the head office of Utkarsh Small Finance Bank Limited, which grew out of a microfinance company (NBFC-MFI). It received its small finance bank licence from the RBI in November 2016 and opened for business on 23 January 2017. The shares have been listed on the NSE and BSE since July 2023.
Lending stays focused on rural and semi-urban areas, with joint liability group loans beside MSME, housing and commercial vehicle loans, through more than 1,000 banking outlets. Savings customers bank through internet banking, the mobile app, UPI, ATMs and micro ATMs, and a WhatsApp service on the bank's official number.
