Bihar Gramin Bank (BGB) is the single regional rural bank for the whole of Bihar, formed on 1 May 2025 by merging Dakshin Bihar Gramin Bank (DBGB) and Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank (UBGB). Punjab National Bank sponsors it, and it runs 2,104 branches in 38 districts from its head office in Patna.
Customers use the BGB mBanking app, UPI, RuPay debit cards and Bank Mitra outlets in villages.

Dakshin Bihar Gramin Bank and Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank merged into Bihar Gramin Bank on 1 May 2025. Punjab National Bank sponsors the new bank, which has its head office in Patna and covers all of Bihar.
Not yet. The bank's merger FAQ says account numbers stay the same until its systems are merged, and the bank will tell customers of any change then. Existing cards, PINs, cheque books and UPI IDs carry on as before.
