Reddit is a network of lakhs of separate communities called subreddits, each with its own topic, moderators and rules. Posts rise or fall on votes rather than on who posted them.

People come to it mostly for genuine experience rather than polished content, product opinions, medical and legal experiences, exam preparation, city-specific advice, and Indian subreddits for states, cities and colleges are very active. Its content also feeds a great deal of what search engines and AI tools surface, which has made it a far more central part of the web than its own traffic suggests.

Refresh or restart the app Close and reopen Reddit, and pull to refresh. A stuck screen often clears on a restart.

Update the app or clear its cache An outdated Reddit app can misbehave. Update it, or clear its cache and reopen.
