About Discord

Discord is built around servers, private community spaces that mix text channels, voice channels and video. It started with gamers and spread from there to study groups, creator fandoms, developer communities and crypto and trading groups.

The voice channel is what makes it different, people leave it running in the background while playing or working, which is closer to being in a room together than to messaging. Its busiest hours follow gaming evenings and weekends, and it is a global service, so problems arrive everywhere at once.

Refresh or restart the app Close and reopen Discord, and pull to refresh. A stuck screen often clears on a restart.
Sign out and back in For login or posting glitches, sign out and back in. Do not repeatedly reinstall during an outage.
Update the app or clear its cache An outdated Discord app can misbehave. Update it, or clear its cache and reopen.
