Formed on 1 May 2025, West Bengal Gramin Bank (WBGB) brought three regional rural banks together: Paschim Banga Gramin Bank, Bangiya Gramin Vikash Bank and Uttar Banga Kshetriya Gramin Bank. Punjab National Bank is its sponsor, and the head office is in New Town, Kolkata.
Its 960 branches cover every district of the state. Customers also bank through WBGB internet banking, the WBGB mBanking app, WhatsApp banking and SMS banking.
