About WBTC

Kolkata's trams and three state bus services, CTC, CSTC and WBSTC, run under one company: West Bengal Transport Corporation Limited (WBTC). It was earlier the Calcutta Tramways Company (1978) Ltd.

Its booking site, wbtconline.in, sells long-distance bus seats, Puja Parikrama and special-ride packages and chartered buses, and it searches tram and city bus routes too.

If WBTC isn't working

Compare with other riders If many riders report WBTC together, the booking site is down. Wait for some time before paying again.
Payment taken, ticket not shown Write to [email protected] with the amount, the date and your registered mobile number. The two helpline numbers at the top of the booking site answer round the clock.
Cancel window shuts early Cancellation stops two hours before the bus leaves its origin. Log in to do it, because booking and cancelling both need the registered account.
Refund not in the account WBTC credits a cancellation to the debited account within 8 working days, and nowhere else. If WBTC itself cancels the bus, the full basic fare comes back.

Other ways to access WBTC

Use the WBTC app The WBTC Online app on Android books the same long-distance buses from your phone.
Book at a counter The Esplanade booking counter in Kolkata takes tram and bus bookings, including AC buses and AC trams, and can reserve a whole bus or tram.
Search tram and city bus routes The same site searches trams and WBTC city bus routes as well as long-distance buses, which helps when a bus seat is not available.
Ring the helpline The verified WBTC helpline has the 24x7 lines, the special-services number and the CSTC and WBSTC control rooms.

Questions

As WBTC riders hit problems, their reports appear here. A sudden rise means wbtconline.in itself is failing. When nobody else is reporting, check your own network or try another browser first.

Check the hour first. Booking shuts twelve hours before the bus leaves, or when the chart prints, whichever comes first. A seat is given only after the payment completes, so a failed payment leaves no ticket.

It climbs as the bus gets closer. 10% of the fare goes more than seven days ahead, 15% up to seven days, and 20% up to three days. Within two days it is 35%, within a day 50%, and the whole fare under two hours.

No. Once the seat is reserved, the journey date and time and the passenger details are fixed. To travel on another day, cancel before the two-hour cut-off and book again.

Yes. wbtconline.in has a Package Booking section for Puja Parikrama and special rides, a Chartered Bus Booking section, and a tram route search. A full bus or tram can also be reserved by phone.

Tap Download on the status card at the top. The server down screenshot shows WBTC's status, when we last checked, and how many users are reporting problems.
