The UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test) decides eligibility for Assistant Professor posts and the Junior Research Fellowship. The National Testing Agency (NTA) runs it twice a year on ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

Registration, admit cards and score cards open through NTA's candidate login pages, and the e-certificate and JRF award letter come from NTA's e-certificate portal. Answer keys and public notices appear first on the UGC NET site.

On result and score card days, a huge number of candidates log in at once, so pages slow down or time out. The score card and admit card logins sit on separate NIC addresses from the main site, so one can load while the other fails. Wait and retry rather than refreshing again and again.

Open the score card link from the latest news on ugcnet.nta.nic.in, then log in with your application number and password or date of birth. If the page keeps timing out, try again later in the day. Save a PDF copy as soon as it opens.

NTA opens a challenge window after it shows the provisional answer keys, and announces it in a public notice on ugcnet.nta.nic.in. File the challenge before the deadline given in that notice.

Contact the helpdesk of the bank you paid through first; the UGC NET contact page lists them for SBI, Canara Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Union Bank. If the bank does not resolve it, email NTA at [email protected] with the transaction details.
