About ICAI

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is the statutory body, set up by an Act of Parliament, that runs the CA course and its exams and regulates chartered accountants across the country. Exam notices, results announcements and the Board of Studies all sit on icai.org.

The daily work happens on other ICAI portals. Students register, fill exam forms and download admit cards on the Self Service Portal (SSP) at eservices.icai.org. Members generate a UDIN for every certificate they sign, and study books are ordered through CDS, the ICAI online store.

If ICAI isn't working

Find which ICAI portal is failing icai.org, SSP, UDIN, BoS and CDS are separate sites with their own logins. Note which one fails before you report it.
Reset the SSP password Use Forgot Password on the SSP login page before assuming the portal is down.
Avoid paying twice If the fee is debited but not shown, wait for SSP to update before paying again.
Use the right SSP login link New students sign up as first-time users. Existing students and members who never had an SSP login use the separate link on the same page.
Compare with other CA students When many CA students report ICAI together, the problem is at ICAI's end. Wait a while, then retry.

Other ways to access ICAI

Go to your regional office ICAI has five regional offices and a network of branches. Visit the nearest one for registration or exam queries.
Generate UDIN in the mobile app UDIN now runs on the ICAI DigiCA Platform, which has a UDIN Mobile App alongside the portal. ICAI's user manual for the app is on the UDIN home page.
Use the ICAI BoS Mobile App The app carries study material, RTPs and exam announcements, and lets you download notes for revision.
Call ICAI Call Sahayata For SSP, exam or UDIN trouble, the ICAI helpline page has the Call Sahayata number and desk emails.

Questions

Check the reports on this page from CA students and members. Many reports in a short time mean ICAI's site has a problem. If only one portal fails for you, such as SSP or UDIN, open that portal directly and check the reports again.

Find which ICAI portal is failing first. icai.org carries notices, the Self Service Portal (SSP) handles registration, exam forms and admit cards, UDIN covers members' certificates, BoS has study material and CDS sells books. Each has its own login, so check this page for reports on that portal.

Open udin.icai.org directly and try once more after some time. UDIN has moved to the ICAI DigiCA Platform, and the user manual for the new portal is listed on the UDIN home page. If generation keeps failing, write to [email protected] with your membership number and the document details.

Use Forgot Password on the SSP login page if the password is rejected. New students register as first-time users; existing students and members without an SSP login use the separate link on the same page. If the page does not open at all, check the reports here and try again later.

Do not pay again straight away. Wait for the status to update on SSP. If it still shows failed, write to the exam desk for online application and duplicate payment queries, listed on ICAI's Examination Department page, with the transaction ID and the date of payment.

The BoS Knowledge Portal carries study material and lectures, and CDS is ICAI's online store for books and suggested answers. If CDS order tracking fails, track the parcel with the courier using your order number: DTDC delivers to the North, South and West regions and abroad, and Trackon to the Central and East regions.
