Kolkata has been home to UCO Bank since 1943, when it opened as United Commercial Bank. The Government of India owns it today, it lends across most states, and a good part of its work is foreign exchange and trade finance.

Online, customers use net banking, the mBanking Plus app, BHIM UCO UPI with IDs that end in @uco, the mPassbook app that works even without internet, and a WhatsApp service that answers balance and card requests. Customers can also lodge and track a grievance through the bank's own SPGRS portal.

If UCO Bank isn't working

Save the reference, do not resend Under RBI's T+1 rule the money from a failed UPI or IMPS payment is due back within one working day. Keep the reference number, or the 12-digit RRN for a UPI payment, and wait rather than risking a second debit.
Try the other channel When mBanking Plus hangs, open net banking on a browser, and the other way round. Try both before assuming UCO Bank is down.
Give the OTP a minute Asking again and again holds the next message up. Check the signal, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, and wait before requesting a fresh code.
Update the app, then clear its cache Update mBanking Plus from the store first. If it still misbehaves, clear the cache and sign in again.
mPassbook still opens offline The mPassbook app shows your balance as of its last sync without any connection at all, which settles most balance questions during an outage.

Cash and balance without a login A UCO debit card keeps working at ATMs for cash and a balance check, and UPI from another app on the same account can carry a small payment.
Raise it on the complaint portal The bank's own grievance portal takes a complaint in writing and gives you a number to follow it with, and the mBanking Plus app carries the same system under Support.
The branch, for anything large or stuck A large transfer that cannot wait can be done over the counter at your branch. If no channel answers, the UCO Bank helpline contacts list the routes the bank publishes.

When every channel fails and reports pile up from other states, the UCO Bank server is down or under maintenance. Waiting is the fix then.

Check the limit before you blame the server. BHIM UCO UPI caps person to person transfers at Rs 1,00,000 a day and merchant payments at Rs 2,00,000, and a payment above the day's remaining room simply fails. After that, try the same account in another UPI app: if that also fails, the problem is in UCO Bank's UPI service rather than the app.

Wait rather than resend. RBI sets T+1 as the deadline for reversing a UPI or IMPS payment that failed after the debit, so the money is due back within one working day, with nothing raised by you. Keep the reference number safe. For UPI that is the 12-digit NPCI RRN shown against the payment, which UCO Bank uses to track it. Check the statement before sending the money a second time.

Try the other channel first. If mBanking Plus is stuck, net banking on a browser may still open, and the reverse. For an OTP that will not arrive, check the signal, give it a minute and only then ask for a fresh one, because several requests in a row can hold the next one up.
