Answer: No Shazam issues reported in the last 24 hours, and it responded normally at our last check on 24 Oct 2026, 4:05 AM IST.
Our automated check runs from one or more locations and may miss in-app problems; reports come from users across India. We only call something "down" when users confirm it too. Here's how we check.

About Shazam
Hear a song you like and want its name? Shazam, the free music recognition app owned by Apple, identifies it in seconds on iPhone, iPad, Android phones, Mac and Apple Watch, and shows lyrics, videos and concerts.
On an iPhone it also works from Control Center or by asking Siri "What song is this?". Identified songs are saved to your Shazam library and can sync to a My Shazam Tracks playlist in Apple Music or Spotify.
20-day history
We checked 21 times over the last 20 days — healthy on 20 days. It typically responds in about 0.1s.
Dashed line is its usual 0.1s, measured over the last 14 days. Gaps are days with no timing data.

Questions
When Shazam fails, users in India flag it here as it happens. If few others are reporting, check that Shazam has microphone access and that your phone is online, since matching a song needs the internet.
The usual problems are:
- "Server could not be contacted" or no result at all.
- No match for a song that is playing.
- Nothing heard through headphones.
- Songs missing from the library.
Update the app and your phone, allow microphone access, and stay online. Without internet, Shazam saves the request and finds the song once you reconnect.
On iPhone or iPad, keep the headphones connected and the internet on, then tap the Shazam button in the app or in Control Center. It can identify music in your headphones and around you, but not through headphones while offline.
On Android, turn on Pop-up Shazam or the notification bar option in the app's settings to name songs playing in other apps.
Check the microphone first: Android Settings, Apps, Shazam, Permissions, Microphone. Update the app, and sign in with your email or Google Account so your songs save to the library.
Yes. On a Windows PC or Mac, add the Shazam extension to Chrome or another Chromium browser from the Chrome Web Store. Pin it, then click it on any tab playing music.
A Mac can also identify songs with Shazam directly. Songs found through the extension do not appear in the phone app.
Yes, in a way. On iPhone, iPad or Android, tap Shazam while offline and the app remembers the request. When you are back online it identifies the song, if it is in the catalogue, and adds it to your library. Turn on notifications to get told.
In the library inside the Shazam app, tied to your Apple Account on iPhone, or your email or Google Account on Android. Apple Music and Spotify subscribers can also sync them to a My Shazam Tracks playlist.
Full songs need an Apple Music subscription. Without one, the Shazam app plays previews, and on Android it plays previews even with Apple Music. You can open any song in Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music or Deezer instead.
Shazam Apple ka free app hai jo aas-paas baj rahe gaane ka naam kuch second mein bata deta hai. iPhone, Android aur Mac par chalta hai, aur lyrics, video aur concert ki jaankari bhi dikhata hai.
