Log in to the Candidate login after results are out. NPTEL issues only an e-certificate, with no hard copy. To pass, you need an assignment average of at least 10 out of 25 and at least 30 out of 75 in the proctored exam, on most courses.

About NPTEL

NPTEL, the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning, is the online course programme of seven IITs and IISc Bangalore, funded by the Ministry of Education. It is coordinated from IIT Madras.

Courses are free to join through SWAYAM and run in two semesters, January to June and July to December. Learners who want an IIT certificate register on the NPTEL exam form, pay the exam fee and write a proctored exam at a centre in India. Results and e-certificates come out on nptel.ac.in.

Questions

This page's NPTEL card checks nptel.ac.in and shows learner reports as they arrive. A burst of reports near an assignment deadline or a result date points to load on NPTEL's side. If you seem to be the only one, switch browser or network and retry.

NPTEL runs on several sites. The main site is nptel.ac.in, courses run on onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in, and the exam form sits on examform.nptel.ac.in. One can slow down while the others work.

Weekly assignment deadlines and result days bring the heaviest traffic.

Sign in with the same Google account email you used to join the course through SWAYAM. If it is the Candidate login that fails, wait for NPTEL's result email. That login opens only for learners who sat the exam, and only after NPTEL announces results.

Join the course first. NPTEL then posts the exam registration link on the course announcement page and emails it to you. Fill the form on the NPTEL exam portal and pay the fee, which the NPTEL FAQ gives as Rs 1,000 per course. Dates are in the Timelines sheet on the semester page.

Online objective exam ka result aur e-certificate exam ke lagbhag 2-3 hafte baad aata hai. Pen-paper wale exam mein 5-6 hafte lagte hain. Result NPTEL ki email ke baad Candidate login mein dekhein.

No date change. The date and session on your hall ticket are fixed for that semester. You can cancel before the deadline in the Timelines sheet, and the fee comes back in 2 to 3 weeks. After the deadline there is no cancellation and no refund.
