About NIC Admissions Portal
Admission counselling for engineering, medical, architecture and other courses runs on admissions.nic.in, the official admission portal built by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and IT. More than 30 counselling bodies use it, from JoSAA and CSAB to state boards such as UPTAC, WBJEEB, ACPC Gujarat and BCECE Bihar.
Each counselling has its own sub-site, for example uptac.admissions.nic.in, where candidates register, fill choices and see seat allotment. The main portal also shows opening and closing ranks (OR-CR) and image editing tools for photo and signature uploads.

Look at what other candidates are reporting here and at our own check of admissions.nic.in. Each counselling body runs on its own sub-site, so JoSAA or a state counselling can fail while the main page works. Say which counselling you were using when you report.
Registration, choice filling and allotment deadlines bring thousands of candidates to the same counselling site at once, and logins slow down. If the main portal opens but your counselling's login does not, the problem is with that counselling sub-site.
Open the National Counsellings or State Counsellings list on admissions.nic.in and pick your board, such as UPTAC, WBJEEB, ACPC Gujarat or BCECE. Each opens its own address, for example uptac.admissions.nic.in, with the candidate sign-in.
Save after every few choices and do not open the portal in two tabs at once. When a save fails repeatedly, come back outside peak hours, and lock your choices well before the deadline shown on your counselling site.
Use OR-CR on admissions.nic.in, which lists opening and closing ranks for the counsellings on the portal.
Use the Image Editing Tools on admissions.nic.in to resize the photo and signature to the size your counselling asks for, then upload again.
