Our automated check runs from one or more locations and may miss in-app problems; reports come from users across India. We only call something "down" when users confirm it too. Here's how we check.

About Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure is Microsoft's cloud platform, carrying hundreds of services for hosting applications, databases, identity and AI workloads. It is heavily used by large enterprises and governments, partly because so many of them already run on Microsoft software.

Azure also underpins Microsoft's own products, which means Microsoft 365, Teams and Outlook sit on the same foundations as customer workloads. A fault in one Azure region can therefore reach two ways at once, into company systems and into everyday Office tools.

If Microsoft Azure isn't working

  • Check the official status page first Microsoft Azure publishes a status and health page for confirmed incidents. For infrastructure, that is the fastest way to know if it is them or you.

  • Check if it is region-specific Many Microsoft Azure outages hit one region or zone. Check which region is affected, since services elsewhere may be fine.

  • Rule out your own config If the status page is green, check your credentials, quotas and recent changes before assuming a platform outage.

  • Retry with backoff For transient errors, retry after a short wait rather than hammering the service, which can make recovery slower.

  • Check the live status above If many people are reporting Microsoft Azure right now, it is a wider outage and not just you.

Other ways to access Microsoft Azure

  • Follow the official status page Microsoft Azure's health dashboard and status social handle give live incident updates and the affected components.

  • Fail over to another region if you can If one Microsoft Azure region is down and your setup allows it, shifting to a healthy region can restore service.

  • Use a backup provider for critical paths If you run multi-cloud or a fallback provider, routing critical traffic there can keep things up during the outage.

  • Wait it out for a platform incident If it is confirmed on Microsoft Azure's side, only their fix resolves it, so watch the status page for the all-clear.

Questions

Check the live status and report map above, and Microsoft Azure's own status page. If reports are spiking, it is a wider Microsoft Azure problem and not just you.
A huge number of apps and services run on Azure, so when a core Azure service or region goes down, many unrelated apps, sites and even Microsoft services like Teams and Outlook can fail at the same time. That is why an Azure outage is often felt far beyond one product.
Azure publishes a status and health page that lists affected services and regions. Because most outages are scoped to specific services or a region, that page shows exactly what is hit and whether your setup is in the affected area.
If Microsoft Azure's status page shows an incident and many people are reporting it here, it is on their side. If not, check your own configuration, credentials and network before assuming an outage.
Pehle upar live status aur Azure ka status page dekhein. Aksar outage kisi ek region ya service tak hota hai, to apna region check karein, aur transient error par thodi der baad retry karein.
Yes. Tap the Download button on the live status card at the top of this page to save the Microsoft Azure server down image. The screenshot shows Microsoft Azure's current status, the last checked time and how many users across India are reporting problems right now. So when Microsoft Azure is actually down you get a real service down screenshot, not a mock-up. Save the service down image to keep it or send it to someone.
We run an on-demand server check from our side and combine it with real user reports across India. Reports are the main signal, because Microsoft Azure can respond to our check while it is still failing for many users. So if reports are spiking here, it is a real problem even if the site loads for us.
