AWS is working right now
There's nothing to notify you about. If it goes down later, come back and we'll let you know when it's fixed.
Our automated check runs from one or more locations and may miss in-app problems; reports come from users across India. We only call something "down" when users confirm it too. Here's how we check.

About AWS
Amazon Web Services is the largest cloud platform in the world, and a very large share of the apps, websites and services people use daily run on its servers, storage and databases without ever saying so.
Indian companies use it heavily too, from startups to banks and large ecommerce operations, often through its Mumbai and Hyderabad regions.
That concentration is the important thing about it. Because so much of the internet sits on AWS, a fault in even one of its regions is felt across many unrelated apps at the same time, which is why an AWS problem never stays an Amazon problem.

If AWS isn't working
-
Check the official status page first AWS publishes a status and health page for confirmed incidents. For infrastructure, that is the fastest way to know if it is them or you.
-
Check if it is region-specific Many AWS outages hit one region or zone. Check which region is affected, since services elsewhere may be fine.
-
Rule out your own config If the status page is green, check your credentials, quotas and recent changes before assuming a platform outage.
-
Retry with backoff For transient errors, retry after a short wait rather than hammering the service, which can make recovery slower.
-
Check the live status above If many people are reporting AWS right now, it is a wider outage and not just you.
Other ways to access AWS
-
Follow the official status page AWS's health dashboard and status social handle give live incident updates and the affected components.
-
Fail over to another region if you can If one AWS region is down and your setup allows it, shifting to a healthy region can restore service.
-
Use a backup provider for critical paths If you run multi-cloud or a fallback provider, routing critical traffic there can keep things up during the outage.
-
Wait it out for a platform incident If it is confirmed on AWS's side, only their fix resolves it, so watch the status page for the all-clear.
