Is Google Search down right now?

Q: Why is Google Search not working today?

Look at the Google Search Status Dashboard. Its Serving row covers the results you see, and it lists any open incident. If nothing is listed and reports here are low, the problem is on your device or connection.

Q: Why is Google Search not working in Chrome?

Try a private window first. If that works, clear Chrome's cache and cookies. If not, turn off toolbars and extensions, and make sure JavaScript is on. Search again after each step.

Q: Why can't I sign in to Google?

Use Google's account recovery steps and answer the questions as best you can. Wrong guesses do not lock you out, and there is no limit on attempts. Google offers no phone help for sign-in.

About Google Search

Google Search is the search engine run by Google LLC at google.com and in the Google app. Besides the familiar results, it now shows AI Overviews and an AI Mode for longer questions.

Google keeps a Search Status Dashboard for crawling, indexing, ranking and serving, the part that delivers results to you. When only your own browser fails, Google's help pages point to private browsing, clearing the cache and turning off extensions.

If Google Search isn't working

See if other Google users in India report it Many Google reports from across India at once point to Google, not your phone or laptop.
Open the Search Status Dashboard An incident under Serving on status.search.google.com means results are affected for many people.
Use a private window Google's own first step. If Search works there, a saved cookie or extension is the cause.
Clear cache, cookies and extensions Clear the browser's cache and cookies, turn off toolbars and extensions, and check that JavaScript is on.
Switch network Put the phone on mobile data instead of Wi-Fi for a minute. A DNS fault on one network can stop Google while other sites still load.

Other ways to access Google Search

Use the Google app or another browser If google.com will not open in one browser, try the Google app or a different browser on the same device.
Search elsewhere for now Bing or DuckDuckGo can handle urgent searches until Google is back.
Ask the Help Community Post your problem in the Google Search Help Community and mention the steps you have tried. Experts there help troubleshoot.
Account, removal or grievance Where to recover an account, check the dashboard or send a grievance is listed on the Google Search helpline page.

Questions

Google users across India report Search problems on this page. A sharp rise in reports means Google itself is having trouble. If reports stay flat, check your own browser, network and DNS.

Look at the Google Search Status Dashboard. Its Serving row covers the results you see, and it lists any open incident. If nothing is listed and reports here are low, the problem is on your device or connection.

Try a private window first. If that works, clear Chrome's cache and cookies. If not, turn off toolbars and extensions, and make sure JavaScript is on. Search again after each step.

Open two or three other big sites. If they load and only Google fails, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, since one network's DNS can block Google alone. If nothing loads, it is your connection.

Use Google's account recovery steps and answer the questions as best you can. Wrong guesses do not lock you out, and there is no limit on attempts. Google offers no phone help for sign-in.

Dusri websites kholkar dekhiye. Woh chal rahi hain to browser ki private window me Google try kariye, ya cache aur cookies clear kariye. Kuch bhi nahi khul raha to internet connection check kariye.

Yes. The Download button on the status card saves a server down image with Google Search's status, the time of our last check, and how many users are reporting problems.
