JBVNL distributes power across Jharkhand, a state with a heavy industrial and mining belt around Jamshedpur, Bokaro and Dhanbad sitting next to large rural stretches that were connected only recently.

Consumers view and pay bills, apply for new connections and register complaints through its portal and app, and prepaid metering has been pushed in parts of the state. Its load and complaint volume both climb through the summer months.
