MSEDCL, better known as Mahavitaran, distributes power to almost all of Maharashtra outside Mumbai city, which makes it the largest electricity distribution company in India with over three crore consumers.

That base is unusually mixed, dense industrial belts around Pune and Nashik on one side, and a very large number of agricultural pumpset connections on the other, which is a constant subject of state politics.

Bill viewing and payment, new connections and outage complaints run through its site and app, busiest at due dates and through the summer months when both consumption and complaints climb.
