Federal Bank is a private sector bank headquartered at Aluva in Kerala, in operation since 1931 and today one of the larger old generation private banks.

It handles a very large share of personal remittances coming into India from the Gulf and elsewhere, which has long been one of its strengths. Customers bank through FedMobile, net banking, UPI and cards, and the bank partners several fintech apps for savings accounts and payments as well.

Remittance flows, salary credits and month end put the most load on its systems, and festival season adds to the remittance volume.

If Federal Bank isn't working

For a failed transaction, keep the reference A failed IMPS, NEFT or UPI payment is normally auto reversed. Note the reference and check your statement before sending again, so you do not pay twice.
Try net banking and the FedMobile app If one is stuck, the other often works, since they do not always go down together. Switch between them before assuming everything is down.
Use UPI from the same account For a payment when net banking is slow, a UPI app linked to your Federal Bank account is usually the fastest way through.
Wait and retry at peak times On salary day and month-end the load is heaviest. Waiting a few minutes and retrying is often quicker than repeated attempts, which add to the load.
