About Dhanlaxmi Bank

Eleven thousand rupees of capital and seven employees, that was the whole of Dhanlaxmi Bank when it was incorporated at Thrissur in November 1927. It became a scheduled commercial bank in 1977 and dropped the longer Dhanalakshmi spelling in 2010. It remains one of the smaller private sector banks in the country, Kerala-rooted, with branches spread into Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and the north.
