Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu, runs Chennai Metro. Phase I links Wimco Nagar, Chennai Central, Koyambedu, Guindy and Chennai International Airport, and Phase II is under construction.

Make sure you sent Hi to CMRL's number, +91 83000 86000, and finished the payment in the chat. The chatbot does not book tickets after metro service hours, so a late-night attempt will not go through. A WhatsApp ticket cannot be cancelled once bought, so check the stations before you pay. If WhatsApp is down on your phone, book the QR ticket in Paytm or PhonePe instead.
