About Apple Maps
The Maps app on every iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch is Apple Maps, which also opens in a browser at maps.apple.com. It gives driving directions, live traffic and place details such as hours and phone numbers.
In India, Apple lists turn-by-turn navigation, traffic, incident reports, satellite view and preferred routes among the Maps features on offer. Shops and offices manage their own listing through Apple Business Connect.

Drivers and iPhone users in India report Apple Maps trouble on this page, and our monitor checks maps.apple.com. On Apple's System Status page, look at Maps Display and Maps Search. If both are fine, check location and data on your phone.
The common complaints are:
- The map stays blank or grey.
- Search returns no results.
- The blue dot sits in the wrong place.
- No route, or directions not available.
Check the two Maps entries on Apple's status page first. If Apple shows no issue, close and reopen Maps, then check Location Services and your data connection.
Check Location Services and the phone clock, in this order:
- Open Settings, Privacy & Security, Location Services. Turn it on and set Maps to While Using the App.
- Under General, Date & Time, turn on Set Automatically.
- Switch on mobile data or Wi-Fi, then restart the iPhone.
Location Services finds you using GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hotspots and phone masts.
For India, Apple's feature list has turn-by-turn navigation, live traffic, reporting incidents, satellite view and preferred routes. Public transport directions, Look Around, cycling routes and lane guidance are not on Apple's India list yet, so plan a bus or metro trip in your city's transit app.
Spoken directions need an internet connection and Precise Location turned on. During a route, tap the Audio Control button and pick a volume. To set it for good, go to Settings, Apps, Maps, Spoken Directions and choose a Voice Volume.
Yes, in a browser. Open maps.apple.com in Chrome, Edge or Firefox on an Android phone or a PC. Some features vary by device and region.
Where Apple offers it, yes. On iOS 17 or later, search a place and tap Download, or go to your picture next to the search field, then Offline Maps. If no Download option shows, offline maps are not offered for that area.
In the Maps app, scroll to the bottom and tap Report an Issue. You can report a street, place or route problem, or add a missing place.
