WBJEEB conducts WBJEE, the state entrance test for engineering, technology and pharmacy admission, and several other entrance exams for the state.

After the exam it publishes the result and rank card and then runs the counselling and seat allotment rounds, which is where most of its traffic comes from, choice filling, allotment results, seat acceptance and upgradation each having their own deadline. Rank card release and every allotment round bring the candidate pool online together.

Result and counselling days explain most of it. The board site takes its heaviest traffic in the hour a rank card or allotment is released, which is load and not a fault. Keep your application number and date of birth to hand, since a mistyped field returns the same error a busy server does.

When the rank card or a seat allotment goes live, a huge number of candidates log in at once, so the site slows down or errors out for a while. It is the load, not your account.
