About UCEED
IIT Bombay conducts the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) for B.Des. admission at six IITs and IIITDM Jabalpur. Class XII students from any stream can sit it.
UCEED 2027 falls on 17 January 2027, in 30 Indian cities. Registration, admit cards, results and score cards run on the UCEED candidate portal, uceedapp.iitb.ac.in.

Questions
Our UCEED card checks the UCEED candidate portal at IIT Bombay and counts reports from design aspirants. When reports stack up within minutes, the portal is down for everyone. For a lone failure, try a different browser.
The last days of registration and admit card day bring the most traffic.
uceed.iitb.ac.in only points you to the year page, /2027/. Registration, the admit card and results sit on a separate candidate portal, uceedapp.iitb.ac.in, so one may load while the other does not.
On Sunday, 17 January 2027, from 9 AM to 12 noon. It is a 3-hour exam held at test centres in 30 cities in India. Requests to change the date or time are not considered.
UCEED 2027 ka registration 1 October 2026 se khul gaya hai. Regular fee ke saath last date 31 October 2026 hai, aur Rs 500 late fee ke saath 6 November 2026, shaam 5 baje tak form bhar sakte hain.
- Rs 2,000 for female candidates of all categories, and for SC, ST and PwD candidates
- Rs 4,000 for everyone else
Registering after 31 October 2026 adds a Rs 500 late fee. The fee is neither refundable nor transferable, and bank charges are extra.
From 1 January 2027, on the candidate portal.
- Log in with your registered email address.
- Choose the admit card option, enter the captcha and click download.
- Keep pop-ups on; the card opens in a pop-up window.
Fix any error in it by 8 January 2027, 5 PM, and carry a printed copy to the exam.
On 6 March 2027, on the official UCEED website. Log in with the account you created at registration. The score card can be downloaded from 10 March to 31 July 2027; UCEED does not send it by email.
One 300-mark paper of 3 hours, in English.
- Part A (200 marks, 2 hours, on computer): 14 numerical questions, 15 multiple-select questions and 28 multiple-choice questions
- Part B (100 marks, 1 hour): two drawing and design questions, answered in a booklet
A wrong MCQ costs 0.71 marks. Part B is evaluated only for candidates who qualify in Part A.
IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur. Together they had 245 B.Des. seats in 2026-27.
Seats are allotted over five rounds by rank, category and choice. The seat acceptance amount is Rs 65,000 for GEN, EWS and OBC-NCL and Rs 20,000 for SC, ST and PwD, including a non-refundable Rs 5,000 processing fee.
