About TNPDCL

TNPDCL (Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited) supplies electricity to homes, farms and businesses across Tamil Nadu, with more than 336 lakh consumers. Until 27 June 2024 the company was TANGEDCO, the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited. On that date the Registrar of Companies approved its new name, after thermal generation moved to TNPGCL and green energy to TNGECL. TNPDCL kept electricity distribution and retail supply.

Bills are paid on the TNPDCL online payment portal at tnebnet.org, still known to most people as the TNEB site, or through QuickPay, the TNEB Mobile App, BBPS apps and section office counters. Power cuts go to 1912 or to Minnagam, the 24x7 customer care centre. The payment portal closes for maintenance every Saturday from 11.30 PM to 12.30 AM.
