About Tamilnad Mercantile Bank

It opened in 1921 as Nadar Bank, set up for the trading community of southern Tamil Nadu, and took the Tamilnad Mercantile Bank name in 1962. Thoothukudi is still the head office.

The bank now puts itself at 600 plus branches across India and 104 years of banking, with deposits, gold loans, MSME and agricultural lending at the core. It listed on the stock exchanges in 2022.
