About Maharashtra Gramin Bank
Across Maharashtra, Maharashtra Gramin Bank (MGB) is now the single regional rural bank, sponsored by the Bank of Maharashtra. It was formed on 1 May 2025 when the old Maharashtra Gramin Bank and Vidarbha Konkan Gramin Bank (VKGB) merged, and it runs over 759 branches from its head office at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
The two banks' systems were joined in September 2025. Former VKGB customers got new account numbers, IFSC codes and debit cards, and use the MGB Mobile Banking app.

Lots of reports here from different districts in the same hour point to an MGB server problem. If you are a former Vidarbha Konkan Gramin Bank customer and only your card or UPI fails, check that you are using the new account number, IFSC and debit card.
Look at the app, net banking, UPI and ATMs together. If all of them fail and MGB customers in other districts report the same here, the bank has a fault. MGB runs every branch on one core banking system, Bancs24. For former VKGB customers, old account numbers, old IFSC codes and old debit cards stopped working after the September 2025 system merger.
Vidarbha Konkan Gramin Bank merged with the old Maharashtra Gramin Bank on 1 May 2025 to form the new Maharashtra Gramin Bank, sponsored by Bank of Maharashtra. Its accounts moved to MGB's system in September 2025.
Former VKGB customers get it by SMS to 9004197098, in the format ONRF followed by the old account number. Any MGB branch can also give it to you if you carry your old account details. The new number has 11 digits in place of the old 15.
Each MGB branch has its own IFSC, listed on the IFSC and MICR Code page of mahagramin.bank.in. Former Vidarbha Konkan Gramin Bank branches got new IFSC codes after the September 2025 merger, so give payers and UPI apps the new code.
Apply for a new debit card at your home branch. Old Vidarbha Konkan Gramin Bank cards do not work after the merger, while cards of the old Maharashtra Gramin Bank carry on as before.
Former VKGB customers start fresh. Install the MGB Mobile Banking app and register at the home branch, register again for internet banking there, and link the UPI ID again with the new account number and IFSC. Old MGB customers need not re-register.
