About Karnataka Grameena Bank
Formed on 1 May 2025, Karnataka Grameena Bank (KaGB) is the merger of two regional rural banks: Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB) and Karnataka Gramin Bank. Customers of both now bank with one bank, with its head office at Ballari.
It is sponsored by Canara Bank and owned jointly by the Government of India, Canara Bank and the Government of Karnataka. Most of its branches are in villages and small towns across the state.
Online, customers use the KGB Connect mobile app, net banking at netbanking.karnatakagb.bank.in, RuPay debit cards and UPI through any UPI app.
26-day history
We checked 32 times over the last 26 days — healthy on 26 days. It typically responds in about 0.3s.

If Karnataka Grameena Bank isn't working
-
Update KGB Connect After the merger the bank moved customers onto the KGB Connect app. Install its latest version and log in again.
-
Try net banking in a browser If the app will not open, go to netbanking.karnatakagb.bank.in. If net banking works, the fault is in the app.
-
Check the payee's IFSC A transfer to a former KVGB account can fail on an old KVGB code. Use the new PKGB code for that branch.
-
Do not repay a failed UPI debit Keep the UPI reference number. If the money is still missing a working day later, raise it with KaGB on the toll-free line.
-
Check the live status on this page Many KaGB customers reporting at once means the bank's side is down. Try again after some time.

Questions
Reports from other KaGB customers and our check of karnatakagb.bank.in, both on this page, give the answer. If many people are reporting the app, net banking or UPI in the same half hour, the bank's servers are the problem. If it is only you, check your phone and network first.
First see which channel is failing: the KGB Connect app, net banking or UPI. If one stops, try another for now. Since the May 2025 merger, customers of the old KVGB and Karnataka Gramin Bank use the same systems, so a fault there is felt by both.
Try the payment again after a few minutes, from the same UPI app. If the amount was debited and the payment still shows failed, do not pay a second time. Under RBI rules KaGB has one working day after a failed UPI payment (T+1) to put the money back; past that, quote the transaction reference to the call centre on 1800 103 8210.
Karnataka Grameena Bank. On 1 May 2025 the old KVGB, short for Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank, joined with Karnataka Gramin Bank to form it. Canara Bank is its sponsor, and its head office is at Ballari.
Yes. The bank gave former KVGB branches new IFSC codes starting with PKGB in place of the old KVGB codes. Its "New IFS Codes" notice for e-KVGB customers lists every branch's old and new code. Update the code with anyone who sends you money by NEFT or RTGS.
