About JoSAA

Admission to the IITs, IISc, NITs, IIEST, IIITs, SPAs and other government-funded technical institutes runs through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), on JEE (Advanced) and JEE (Main) ranks.

Candidates register, fill and lock choices, and then go through five rounds of seat allocation, followed by the CSAB Special round for the NIT+ system. After each allotment a candidate chooses Freeze, Float or Slide, uploads documents and pays the Seat Acceptance Fee, all online on the JoSAA portal.

Finish before the round deadline Choice filling, locking and online reporting each close at a fixed time in every round. Do not leave the fee payment for the last hour.
Reopen a locked list before the deadline You can edit locked choices before the deadline after an OTP-verified request on the portal.
Check all three reporting steps After an allotment, complete all three for that round: pick Freeze, Float or Slide, upload the documents and pay the Seat Acceptance Fee.
Check the live status on this page When many candidates report JoSAA at the same time, the portal is overloaded. Wait a few minutes and try again.
