Open the other channel first INDIE, net banking and UPI all lead to the same account. Whichever opens tells you how far the trouble reaches.
Update INDIE, then change network Install the latest version from the store, and try the other network on your phone before deciding the bank is down.
Pay from another bank's account UPI apps hold accounts from several banks. For something urgent, route it through a different one and square up afterwards.
Do not repeat a failed payment Money taken for a failed payment is reversed to the account. Sending it again risks a second debit that also has to be traced.
Only need the balance? A missed call on 1800 274 1000, placed from the number your account is registered on, sends the balance back by SMS with no login at all.

Missed call for the balance Dial 1800 274 1000 from your registered mobile. The call drops and the balance arrives as a message, free of charge.
Pay another way IMPS and NEFT in net banking run on different rails from UPI, and a card or cash covers a shop counter while the app is stuck.
ATM or branch for cash and paperwork An IndusInd debit card still draws cash at an ATM if INDIE is stuck, and a branch handles a stuck transfer or a deposit that cannot wait.

Questions

Two things on this page answer it: the live check, and where the reports are coming from. A burst out of several states inside an hour means IndusInd has downtime or a technical issue. With only a few reports, try a second service - INDIE, net banking or UPI - to see how far the trouble reaches.

UPI has the most moving parts. A payment travels from the app to IndusInd, through NPCI's switch and on to the receiving bank, so it can fail while INDIE, cards and net banking are all fine. Pay a rupee from a second bank you hold in the same app: if that clears, the fault is IndusInd's end and time is the cure.

Try again after a while rather than deleting and re-adding the account, which forces the whole setup and the UPI PIN again. If IndusInd stays missing from the list, pay from another bank's account meanwhile and call 1800 266 0447 to check your UPI status.

Change one thing at a time. Update INDIE from the store, then try the other network on your phone, then open net banking in a browser instead. They reach the same account by different routes, so try both. An OTP that never arrives is worth a minute's patience before you ask for another, and it only ever goes to the mobile number on the account.

Wait for the reversal before trying again. Money taken against a failed payment comes back, and the RBI gives banks one working day for UPI and IMPS, and the account statement rather than the app balance is where to confirm it. Keep the reference number, and if it has still not returned, put it to the contact centre or the complaint form instead of repeating the transfer.

Not necessarily. A decline can be the limit on that card, an international or online setting that is switched off, or the merchant's own payment gateway. Card controls sit inside INDIE and net banking. If the card fails everywhere and the reports here are climbing at the same time, it is the bank.
