Flipkart, run by Flipkart Internet Private Limited, is the homegrown giant of Indian ecommerce. Two former Amazon employees started it in Bengaluru in 2007 selling books, and Walmart has held the majority since 2018.

It sells in nearly every category, runs its own courier arm in Ekart and owns Myntra. For crores of shoppers in smaller cities it was the first place they bought anything online.

One fixture dominates the calendar. Big Billion Days around the festive season pushes traffic and orders to several times the usual level for days together.

Payment failed but money deducted? Do not pay again. Check My Orders first. If the order did not confirm, the amount is refunded on its own.
App not loading? Update the app, clear its cache and reopen. If it still fails, open the website to see whether it is the app or Flipkart.
Checkout failing? Switch the payment method, to UPI, another card, net banking or Cash on Delivery. A wrong date and time on the phone also breaks checkout.

Check the reports on this page. If the app, website and checkout all fail together, Flipkart has a technical issue on its side. When just checkout or one payment method fails, pay another way before calling it an outage.

Two common causes. During a sale, retry checkout after a few minutes rather than repeatedly. Or one payment method fails while the rest of the site is fine. Try another method first.

Do not pay again. Check My Orders first; many times the order is placed even though the confirmation screen never loaded. If no order is there, the amount comes back on its own.
