Apple Podcasts listeners in India log trouble here as it happens. We also test podcasts.apple.com, the web player. When reports stay low, check your app version, storage and connection.
The usual reports are:
- An episode will not start, or stops midway.
- The app or web player will not load shows.
- New episodes do not download.
- Premium episodes stay locked.
Update iOS first, since some content needs the latest version to play. Then check your connection and free storage.
Check the iOS version and the mobile-data setting first.
- Update to the latest iOS.
- For video shows, go to Settings, Apps, Podcasts, and under Video Streaming turn on Allow Over Mobile.
- Close and reopen Podcasts, then restart the phone.
The next episode plays from your queue. Tap the mini player, then the Queue button, to see what comes next. On any episode, tap More and choose Play Next or Add to Queue.
Yes, on the web. Open podcasts.apple.com in your browser, sign in with an Apple Account if you subscribe, and listen there. The full app comes built into Apple devices.
Yes, for millions of shows. Some creators charge for premium shows or channels, with extras like ad-free listening and early episodes.
In India you can pay for these by debit card, credit card or UPI, added under Payments & Shipping in your Apple Account.
Apple Podcasts deletes a downloaded episode 24 hours after you play it. To keep them, open Settings, Apps, Podcasts and turn off Remove Played Downloads. Under Automatic Downloads you can also choose how many new episodes to keep.
In Apple Podcasts on iPhone or iPad, tap your profile, then Subscriptions, and cancel the one you want to stop.
Do it at least a day before the renewal date. Unfollowing a show does not cancel a paid subscription, and access lasts until the date shown.
