About Uni Cards

Few Indian fintechs were hit as directly by a single regulatory circular as Uni was. Its original product, a card that split every purchase into three interest-free instalments, depended on loading a credit line onto a prepaid instrument, which the RBI barred in June 2022.

What followed was a rebuild around conventional co-branded credit cards issued with a partner bank, with rewards paid out in digital gold instead of points. The operating company is Unirewards Technologies, and it is unrelated to a similarly named Chennai firm that shows up in company searches.

If Uni Cards isn't working

Card declined at a shop Check the available limit and whether a statement is due. Try the card on a different terminal before assuming it is blocked, since terminal faults look identical to a decline.
App will not log in Close it from recents, switch between wifi and mobile data, and make sure you are on the current version. Repeated failed attempts can pause login for a short while.
Rewards or statement missing Give rewards a few working days after the transaction settles. If a statement has not generated at all, that is worth raising with support rather than waiting.
Keep a payment record If the app is down on a due date, pay through the issuing bank and keep the confirmation, so the payment is not treated as late.

Pay the bill through the issuing bank The card account sits with a partner bank, so its net banking or app can take the payment while the Uni app is unavailable.
Use another card or UPI For a purchase that will not go through, a different card or a UPI payment is the fastest way around a decline at the till.
Check email for the statement Statements are emailed as well as shown in the app, so the amount and due date are usually available even when the app will not open.

The app and the card are two different systems. A card decline runs through the partner bank that issues it and the card network, so it can fail while the Uni app opens fine. Login trouble, a missing statement or rewards that have not appeared are on Uni's side instead.
