Q: How do I track a refund from a Razorpay payment?

Open razorpay.com/support, choose Customer and use Track Payments with the phone number you paid from or the payment ID. Only the shop can start a refund. Once it does, Razorpay emails you the refund ID and a bank reference, an ARN, RRN or UTR, that your bank can trace.

Q: I am a merchant, is my Razorpay checkout or API down?

Look at status.razorpay.com, then Bank Downtimes in your Dashboard, which groups live downtimes by UPI handle, card network and bank and refreshes every 5 minutes. If nothing shows there, raise a ticket under Account & Settings, then Support tickets.

If Razorpay isn't working

Pick another payment method If a method shows as disabled or keeps failing, choose UPI, another card or net banking instead.
Stay on the payment window Wait on the page after entering the OTP. Closing it or pressing back can leave the payment without a status.
Debited, but no order? Keep the payment ID from the confirmation email or SMS, and check it in Track Payments before paying again.
Merchant? Check Bank Downtimes The Dashboard's Bank Downtimes view shows which bank, UPI handle or card network is down right now.
Check the live status above If many people across India are reporting Razorpay right now, it is a wider problem and not just you.

Other ways to access Razorpay

Pay by another method When one method is down at a Razorpay checkout, switch to UPI, a different card or net banking.
Ask the shop for another way to pay Many shops also take Cash on Delivery or run a second payment gateway.
Open the payment link again later If the shop sent you a Razorpay Payment Link, try it again once payments recover.

Check the user reports on this page and Razorpay's own status page, status.razorpay.com. It lists the Payments API, Checkout, the Dashboard and Payment Links one by one, with any downtime or degraded service over the last 90 days. If only one payment method is failing, try another method; the trouble may be at a bank rather than at Razorpay.

Check which payment method failed. When a bank, UPI handle or card network has trouble, Razorpay shows that method as disabled at checkout until it recovers, so pick another method. A payment can also stall if your network drops, or if you close the payment window or press back after the OTP.

Yes, if the shop never captured it. When the bank does not confirm a payment, Razorpay marks it failed after 10 minutes and keeps checking with the bank for 3 days. Money debited but not captured is refunded automatically. Confirm the order with the shop before you pay again.

Contact the shop first, since Razorpay cannot refund on a business's behalf. If the shop does not answer within 3 to 5 working days, raise a dispute with your bank, which takes it up with Razorpay. For an item not received, wait at least 7 days from the payment before disputing.
