Niyo sells a zero forex markup card for Indians travelling abroad, loaded in rupees and spent in more than 180 countries. The app is run by Finnew Solutions Private Limited of Bengaluru, which is not a bank. The savings accounts, deposits and co-branded VISA debit and credit cards are issued by partner banks: SBM Bank (India), DCB Bank and YES Bank.

Currency exchange and money sent abroad go through Kanji Forex Private Limited (NiyoForex), an RBI-authorised dealer. Which partner holds your card decides which helpline you call.

If Niyo isn't working

Card declined abroad Check that the balance covers the amount, then retry on a chip and PIN terminal. Still declined? Chat with Niyo in the app.
Use live chat when abroad On a foreign SIM, calling an Indian helpline is costly. Live chat in the Niyo app is open 24/7 and needs only data.
Force close and reopen Clear the app from recents and open it again. If login still fails, check whether it is only the app by using the card at a shop or ATM.
Block the card immediately if unsure Spot a payment you do not recognise? Call the partner bank that issued the card straight away and ask it to block the card.

Other ways to access Niyo

Use the partner bank's channels SBM Bank, DCB Bank and YES Bank run their own help centres, which work even when the Niyo app is having trouble.
Carry a backup card abroad Carry a second card from a different bank when you travel, and keep it separate from your Niyo card.
Withdraw cash as a fallback If card payments keep failing at shops, try an ATM withdrawal on the same card, and keep some local cash for the day.
Use the verified contact list The verified Niyo contact details set out which number belongs to which partner, so you do not waste a call on the wrong desk.
