About Jeevan Pramaan

Jeevan Pramaan lets a pensioner submit a digital life certificate without going to the bank or pension office, using Aadhaar based fingerprint, iris or face authentication from home or a nearby centre.

The proof that a pensioner is alive has to be given every year for the pension to continue, and this replaced the old routine of standing in a queue with a form. Face authentication on an ordinary smartphone made it workable for the very elderly.

Its load is seasonal in the extreme, November and December is when lakhs of pensioners submit together, with an earlier window from October for the very old.

Try in good lighting for face auth Face authentication needs good, even lighting and a steady camera. Retry in better light before assuming the service is down.
Update the app Update the Jeevan Pramaan app and the AadhaarFaceRD app from the store, since an outdated version often causes auth failures.
Wait and retry in the peak window In November and December the service is overloaded. Wait a little and retry, ideally in off-peak hours.
Check your Aadhaar and mobile Make sure your Aadhaar-linked mobile is reachable for OTP and your details match your pension record.

Submit through your bank or post office Pension disbursing banks and post offices can record your life certificate, and many offer doorstep service for the aged and infirm.
Use a Jeevan Pramaan centre or CSC A designated Jeevan Pramaan centre or common service centre can capture your certificate when your own device is failing.
Try later in off-peak hours The service is far less loaded early morning or late at night than during the daytime peak.
Doorstep banking for the aged Many banks offer doorstep life-certificate service for elderly or immobile pensioners, so ask your bank about it.
