Indian Visa Online, indianvisaonline.gov.in, is the Government of India portal for visas to India, with content managed by the Bureau of Immigration, Ministry of Home Affairs. Foreign nationals apply here for an e-Visa, or for a regular paper visa through an Indian Mission abroad.
The e-Visa comes in nine types, including e-Tourist, e-Business and e-Medical. Foreigners and OCI cardholders also file the e-Arrival card here within 72 hours before landing, and Japanese, South Korean and some UAE nationals can get a visa on arrival at six airports.

At least 4 days before arrival for e-Tourist, e-Business and e-Medical visas, and the fee must be paid 4 days before travel. e-Medical applicants can pick an arrival date up to 120 days ahead. Your passport needs six months of validity.
Use the Visa Status option on the e-Visa page. An email also tells you whether the visa is granted or rejected. Travel only once the status shows GRANTED, and carry a copy of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
No. The fee pays for processing, so it is not refunded even if the e-Visa is rejected. It varies by country, and card payments carry a bank charge of about 3%.
An arrival form, not a visa. Foreigners and OCI cardholders fill it online within 72 hours before landing in India, on indianvisaonline.gov.in, boi.gov.in or the Indian Visa Su-Swagatam app.
Wait 2 hours for the status to update, then check Verify Payment. Do not pay again at once. If the gateway marks the payment failed, the money returns to your card after reconciliation, which the SBIePay FAQ puts at within seven days.
