About e-District WB
e-District West Bengal (edistrict.wb.gov.in) is the state's single-window portal for certificates and citizen services: income, domicile and caste certificates, trade licences, society registration and certified copies of registered deeds. It is a Mission Mode Project of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms (P&AR) Department, Government of West Bengal.
Each application gets an AIN, the number used to track it and to verify the certificate later. Webel Technology Limited (WTL) hosts the portal, and Bangla Sahayata Kendra (BSK) centres help citizens who cannot apply on their own.

Leave a gap after OTP failures After a wrong or missing OTP, wait an hour before trying again, and check the mobile number.

Check the payment before paying again Use the eye button on the AIN to see whether the last payment went through before you pay again.

Keep the AIN safe Note the AIN after submitting. Status, verification and refunds all go by that number.

Apply at a Bangla Sahayata Kendra BSK centres across West Bengal have operators who help with government service applications. Use Find your BSK to get the nearest one.

Verify a certificate by AIN Third Party Certificate Verification on the portal checks any AIN, so an office can confirm your certificate itself.

Get the payment receipt later If the receipt did not download, open the AIN on your dashboard and use the Payment Details tab.

See the status card on this page, which checks edistrict.wb.gov.in and shows what other users in West Bengal report. If the page stays blank, refresh once before you report it.
The portal itself may be down. If it opens, these are the usual blocks:
- Already logged in: your last session did not close. Wait 20 minutes, then log in again.
- No OTP or invalid OTP: the mobile number may be wrong or the OTP expired. Try again after 1 hour.
- Cannot log in: your User ID and registered mobile number may not be linked correctly.
Log in with the account you applied from and open your dashboard to see the status of your AIN. To check any other AIN, use the Third Party Certificate Verification option.
If the dashboard says Approved but there is no download, the officer has not signed the certificate yet. It downloads only after signing. If the fee payment is still pending, the certificate will not come either; check the payment first.
- Click the eye button to see the payment status.
- If bank confirmation is pending, wait 24 hours.
- If it then shows Failed or Invalid, the money returns to the same account within 7 to 8 working days.
- No refund after that? Raise a chargeback request with your bank.
If the screen only says Payment is in progress, wait 48 hours before checking again.
Sent Back means the department wants changes. Open your dashboard, click Sent Back Remarks to read the reason, then Edit Case and resubmit.
A Rejected application cannot be corrected. You have to submit a fresh one.
Click Forget User Id at the top of the portal. If that does not work, the e-District helpdesk can retrieve the User ID once you give the details of your account.
